First results in the infrared region
First results in the infrared region
In this experimental realization the HI device is equipped with a 14-bit InGaAs camera. The camera sensor covers the SWIR spectral region from 900 nm up to 1750 nm.
Different halogen lamp are used as variable temperature target.
Two different lasers are used as reference for the analysis:
a Nd:YAG laser at 1064 nm,
a diode laser at 980 nm.
Test target #1:
Tungsten filament lamp
Test target #2:
Tungsten filament lamp
Test target #3:
Tungsten strip lamp
Result: Blackbody radiation spectra
Blackbody radiation spectra at different temperatures. The spectrum must be corrected for the spectral responsivity of the optical system and of the InGaAs CCD camera which is unknown.
Result: Temperature estimation
Relative errors calculated for each temperature. The errors are calculated as the difference between the temperature measured with the pyrometer and the one estimated with the HI device.
Result: Thermal imaging
Thermal imaging is implemented by inferring the temperature of a pixel of the image from the intensity of the light impinging on the same.
